A behavioural scientist on the team

An always-on behavioural scientist for your product team.

BehAIve puts behavioural science into your product process, the way a behavioural scientist on the team would. Before the spec is written, while the screen is designed, and after it ships, your team knows what users will feel and do at each step, and fixes it before it shows up in the numbers.

What BehAIve is

Your product learns to anticipate user psychology, instead of discovering it afterwards.

Most teams find out what a screen did to users from the numbers, weeks later. With a behavioural scientist in the room, they know at the whiteboard. BehAIve is that scientist, on every spec, every screen and every review, with 990 worked examples from 45 Indian apps behind each answer.

At every stage of the product process

Before the design, during it, and after it ships

Before design

The spec, with the psychology already in it

While a PM writes a requirement in Claude or Cursor, BehAIve says what people will do at that step, which principle drives it, and how 45 other apps handled the same moment. Before a single screen exists.

During design

The read, while the screen is being designed

Inside Figma, a designer selects a frame and gets what it will do to the person using it, how three competitors handled it, and the change to make, written as copy.

After it ships

Your app, reviewed the way a behavioural scientist would

Screen by screen. Side by side with a competitor. Or the whole category, for whoever owns the roadmap.

What is behind an answer

What every answer is built on

990findings
45apps, screen by screen
174behavioural principles
486things done right, kept

Dark patterns, read against the CCPA 2023 guidelines

Drip pricing, false urgency, confirm-shaming, basket sneaking, disguised ads. Each one described against the guideline it matches and cited to the clause, so the finding can be checked rather than argued.

174 behavioural principles, named and defined

Anchoring, loss aversion, the default effect. Every finding names the principle it rests on and where the principle comes from. Nothing is asserted without one.

A set of questions for each kind of screen

A checkout is read against what matters at a checkout; a paywall against what matters at a paywall. Forty of them, so two people reading the same screen reach the same finding.

Rules that hold across a category

Where the same answer came back app after app, we wrote it down as a rule and kept the screen it came from. Fourteen moments, from onboarding to cancellation.

What every app in a category does

How many put the fee before the tap, how many after. Your screen read against what the category already taught the person to expect.

What good looks like, kept

486 screens where the app did right by the person, recorded as carefully as the ones that cost them. Not only a list of mistakes.

Every claim tied to a screen

A finding names the app, the screen and the day it was captured. You can open it and see for yourself.

Authority bias

Four badges in one screen, and none of them says what it means.

When every product wears a badge, the shopper stops believing any of them. A badge is only worth something if some products do not have it.
ChangeSay what the badge means — "Mega Price Drop (70%+ off)" — and put it only on the products that clear the bar.

Anchoring

₹1 is printed huge. ₹199 every month is printed small, underneath.

The ₹1 is what gets people to start, and that is fine. The problem is that the ₹199 is the number they never read — so the charge arrives as a surprise, and a surprise charge is the one they cancel and complain about.
ChangeKeep ₹1 as the hook. Print "then ₹199 a month" in the same size, right next to it, and say the date of the first charge.

Loss aversion

The app sells a streak freeze to someone whose streak already reads zero.

Once a streak can be bought, it stops telling you who practised. The person is being sold protection for something they have already lost.
ChangeFreeze it for free: "Busy today? We've frozen your streak." Sell nothing at the moment someone is about to give up.

Reference dependence

The strongest evidence in the app is cut off by a text field.

The app already has the number it needs. It sits one stage too late.
